How did y'all in the storm? Did it take a long time to get power back? Is everyone all right?

Just wishing y'all well. The stories on the national news look so dire.

Where we are located the ice just left the trees today. We were out of power and water for two days but there are areas within 1/2 mile that are still without. Many trees and power lines down. We have been getting trees off the fences and have at least a week left of that. Some areas close to us will not get power back for weeks.

We still have no power.

(We were out the first 2 days, had it come up for about 24 hours, and then go back out again.)

Got down to 37 F INSIDE our home one of the nights.

Since we have horses, we can't do like a lot of people and shut water off, drain the pipes, and go to a hotel to wait things out.

So, we end up having to tough it out there.

We had approximately 20 trees down in the fenceline. Today we spent getting it off the fence (not cleaning it up, just getting it off the fence).

Big +1 for Electrobraid! The stuff took a beating - and once we rolled/cut the trees off, it bounced right back.

We're *hoping* our power will come back in the next few days......

Glad to hear that the power is back on. Y'all have had an ordeal.

Because we live up in CT now, people ask me, "Oh - our winters are so awful. You must wish you were back in KY." Well, we do -- but not for that reason. Wink

Our winters up here are colder, but we have a lot less ice.

Wow, I didn't knew abut this (I don't really watch TV), but we also had storms here and the city near us was without electricity for some hours.
Check out this horse: you tube [dot] com / watch?v=3T4p8tBB38Q (I can't use links)
I think this happened in many countries.
